Pakistan is already facing environmental & climate-changing effects.
Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) revealed on Tuesday that the country will soon go to face its next major environmental challenge intense smog & fog.
The high moisture levels in the air are due to the recent rains & floods. When moisture is combined with the suspended pollutants, they are likely to create a heavy smog cover. The heavy smog may overcome the Punjab & Sindh in December & January.
As one of the nations most affected by air pollution, Pakistan bears the loss of around 140,000 lives to air pollution annually, according to experts.
Moreover, the next few months could be even more challenging, with the smog adding to the already difficult rescue, relief, and restoration projects.
PMD issued warnings & instructions to all rescue & operation departments to be prepared for natural disasters.
