Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice-President Maryam Nawaz holds a meeting with the former prime minister and PML-N senior Leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
According to details during the meeting, Maryam Nawaz appreciates Shahid Khaqan Abbasi by commenting that “Leaders like him are the PML-N’s “pride” and that she wanted to play her role in the development of the party under his “guidance”.

Some Credibile Party sources told the private media group that the meeting dispelled the impression that Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had not accepted Maryam as senior vice president of the party.
The former premier stepped down from the top post after her taking the post of the party as Vice President last month, saying he resigned to give the new leader “space” to work freely.
The sources said that Maryam had a brief conversation with Shahid Abbasi, assuring him that the party and its leadership had full faith in him.
“I am your sister; I want to play my role in the development of the party and the country under your guidance,” the sources quoted Maryam as saying.
She told Shahid Abbasi that everyone would work together for the party under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif. “Leaders like you are the pride of the party and your eternal sacrifices cannot be forgotten,” Maryam said.
In response, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi told the party’s chief organizer that he had dedicated his everything to the PML-N. “Nawaz Sharif is my leader, while Shehbaz Sharif’s guidance has always been with me,” he said adding that he loved Nawaz and that’s why he was a part of the PML-N.
He said that he had not distanced himself from the party and was still in touch with the PML-N supremo and other party leaders.
Abbasi Resigns from his Party
Earlier Ex-Pime Minister and PML-N senior vice President Shahid Khaqan Abbasi resigned from the party post and has sent his resignation to Party President and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is among the top leaders of the PML-N who took charge of the office of prime minister after Nawaz Sharif was disqualified by the court in the Panama Papers scandal. Now today Shahid Khaqan in a surprise move sent his resignation as the senior vice president of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz to the party’s president.
According to sources Shahid Khanqan Abbasi was not happy with the party leadership’s decision to appoint Nawaz Sharif’s Daughter Maryam Nawaz as the senior vice president and chief organizer of the Party PML-N.
Credible Sources in PML-N also claimed that “Shahid Khaqan had also serious differences with the party’s policies for a long time”. Sources said that he was disappointed over the PML-N’s behavior with former finance minister Miftah Ismail.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was offered a ministry or other office in the Shehbaz Sharif cabinet after Imran Khan’s government was de-seated with a vote of no confidence by the PDM but he denied to accept any Ministry.
