The ISPR said area locals “appreciated the security forces responded and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the area”.

A day earlier, the security forces killed six terrorists in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in North Waziristan’s Datakhel area, said ISPR.

The exchange of fire comes amid a surge in terrorist activities across the country since the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) ended its ceasefire with the government in November 2022.

Earlier last month Two terrorists were killed in an exchange of firing with security forces in the North Waziristan district. According to details, the security forces killed two terrorists and two were arrested during the intense encounter.

The Pak Army’s Media wing further said that two Pakistan Army soldiers Sipahi Imran Ullah and Sipahi Afzal Khan embraced Shahadat during the gunfight with terrorists.

The ISPR said heavy weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists. According to the media wing of the armed forces, the terrorists were involved in terror activities against innocent civilians and security forces.

ISPR spokesperson further said that such incidents reaffirm the Armed forces’ determination to take on any entity that resorts to violence and these sacrifices will further strengthen the resolve of armed forces to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.
