Former Punjab chief minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Usman Buzdar on Friday announced that he is quitting politics in the condemning the 9th May violence.
While addressing a press conference, the PTI leader condemned 9th May violent events and asserted that he was and will always stand with the Pakistan Army.

“First of all, I condemn the 9th May incidents. The military installations which were targeted were properties of the state of Pakistan and I believe we should avoid such incidents,” Buzdar told journalists during a press conference in Lahore.
“I have always committed to politics of nobility […] but due to the current circumstances, I have decided to quit politics,” the former chief minister, once considered to be close to PTI Chairman Imran Khan, said.
The former chief minister called on all stakeholders to reach a consensus and also requested the authorities to release all those who were innocent from jail.
“I request all stakeholders to exit their parties and think for the better future of Pakistan,” said Buzdar said in a press conference.
It is to be pertinent mention here that, Fawad Chaudhry, Shireen Mazari, Imran Ismail, Ali Zaidi, Aamir Mehmood Kiani, Malik Amin Aslam, Mahmood Moulvi, Aftab Siddiqui, Fayyazul Hassan Chohan among others — have left the former ruling party following the 9th May vandalism.
Earlier Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa president and former chief minister resigned from party positions.
Addressing a presser, PTI leader said that he had already condemned the attacks on military instalments on May 9 after the arrest of former prime minister Imran Khan.
Pervez Khattak said that he will decide on his future plans after consultation with colleagues. “What happened on May 9 was not good for the country and it should not be repeated,” he said.
