Wheat prices in Punjab’s open market came down by Rs1,200 per maund, after the increase in wheat quota and import of wheat from Russia.
According to market dealers and Distributors, the per maund wheat price dropped to Rs 4,000 from Rs 5,200. After the reduction of Rs1,200 per maund, the per kg wheat price in the open market has dropped to Rs100 from 130.

Remember here one thing that the Provincial food department announces to increase the quota of wheat to the flour mills from 21,000 metric tons per day to 26,000 metric tons per day.
The sources in the wheat depts said that the price of wheat is coming down due to an increase in the Government’s quota and the arrival of imported wheat from Russia. The market wheat dealers now expecting a reduction of Rs300 to 400 per maund in the coming days.
Earlier Pakistan received its first batch of Wheat imported from Russia. Ministry of National Food Security said that two ships carrying wheat arrived in Pakistan from Russia. According to officials a total of 7.5 million tonnes of wheat will be imported from Russia at the governmental level.
The officials also said that 100,000 tons of wheat will reach Pakistan through Gwadar, likewise, all the ships of wheat imported from Russia will reach Pakistan by 30th March 2023.
Remember that After the Economical Crisis, Nowadays Pakistan is facing a shortage of wheat. Pakistan’s Provinces Balochistan & Punjab run out of wheat.
After running short of wheat flour prices were also jacked up by distributors.
According to the latest reports Government claims that soon they will take over the rising prices of flour and the crisis of wheat will be normalized in Provinces as we have received wheat from Russia.
It is to be intimated that, the Wheat shortage in Pakistan takes place due to last year’s devastating floods.
