Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir visited the port city of Gwadar where he was briefed on a prevailing security situation.
According to Military Media Wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement, COAS General Syed Asim Munir on Thursday visited the Balochistan port city of Gwadar where he was briefed on a prevailing security situation. The army chief was briefed on the prevailing security situation, the formationās operational preparedness, ChinaāPakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) security, and efforts for ensuring a peaceful and secure environment.
The ISPR said that Gen Asim Munir appreciated the efforts of all ranks and urged them to continue working with professional commitment for the good of the people of Balochistan. COAs Asim Munir also interacted with local notables, elected representatives and people belong from different walks of life.
Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo and Quetta Corps Commander Lt Gen Asif Ghafoor were also present during the visit.
While interacting with troops, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) said: āHandful of misguided elements cannot break the resolve of the people of Balochistan and the armed forces committed toward ensuring peace and prosperityā.
The ISPR said that the army chief passed the remarks during his interaction with Balochistanās local notables, and elected representatives.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that COAS Munir laid particular emphasis on the socio-economic development of the area. He also announced welfare projects related to education, installation of solar systems, fisheries, water, health, sports, and livelihood.
