Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf on Friday accepted the resignations of 35 more lawmakers and leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as Imran Khan announces his party returns to the National Assembly in order to bring a no-confidence vote against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
A total of 69 resignations were accepted this week after the PTI announced to return to the Assembly.

“In accordance with clause (1) of Article 64 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, read with Rule 43 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly of Pakistan 2007, the Hon’ble Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan has been pleased to accept the resignations of the following Members of the National Assembly with effect from April 11, 2022, the date when the letter of respective resignations was submitted,” the statement released by the National Assembly Secretariat read.
Following the approval of the resignations, the summary was sent to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to de-notify the PTI lawmakers.
Earlier this week Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) denotified 35 Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after the Speaker National Assembly accepted their resignations.
At the request of National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) denotified 35 PTI MNAs including top leaders of the opposition party in the Centre.
The identified Members include the senior leaders of PTI and Lawmakers including Asad Umar, Asad Qaiser, Pervez Khattak, Murad Saeed, Imran Khattak, Shehryar Afridi, Ali Amin Gandapur, Noorul Haq Qadri, Raja Khurram Nawaz, Ali Nawaz Awan, Sadaqat Ali Khan, Ghulam Sarwar, Sheikh Rashid Shafiq, Mansoor Hayat Khan, Fawad Chaudhry, Sanaullah Khan, Hammad Azhar, Shafqat Mahmood, Malik Amir Dogar, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Zartaj Gul, Faheem Khan, Saifur Rehman, Alamgir Khan, Ali Zaidi, Aftab Siddiqui, Ataullah Khan, Aftab Jahangir, Muhammad Aslam Khan, Najeeb Haroon, Qasim Suri, and others.
The election commission also denotified Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed.
