A Punjab government delegation along with security officials and Punjab police Contingents has arrived at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s Zaman Park Lahore residence to hold talks for a search operation as the authorities claim there are “30-40 terrorists” present inside his residency. 

The delegation — led by Lahore’s commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa including SP, DIG, and lady police personnel reaches Zaman Park Lahore after the authorities received search warrants from an anti-terrorism court to conduct raid the former prime minister’s residence.

The delegation was holding talks with Imran Khan and his legal team to conduct a search operation at Zaman Park.

The team led by Commissioner Lahore also visited the camp present in Zaman Park. They also met Imran Khan and tabled the search warrant that was obtained earlier today.

It is to be pertinent that, The Punjab Interim Government on Wednesday had claimed that “30-40 terrorists were hiding inside Imran Khan’s residence” and gave 24 hours to PTI to hand over these terrorist to govt or face action.

The Punjab minister said that the agencies were able to confirm the presence of the “terrorists” in Zaman Park through geo-fencing.

However, no action was taken after the deadline expired on Thursday as authorities didn’t get any green signal from the Government.

Later, Punjab Information Minister Amir Mir said that law enforcers will conduct a search operation at Imran Khan’s residence after his permission and in front of Media to catch “terrorists”.

“We [the interim government] have decided that instead of a head-on collision, we will send a delegation to Khan sahab under the supervision of the Lahore commissioner,” Punjab Information Minister Amir Mir told during interview with Private media channel.

“They will ask him [Khan] to allow them to conduct a search operation. A police party — comprising 400 personnel — will accompany the delegation as there is a reported presence of terrorists,” he said.

Moreover, he said, if Imran Khan refused to allow for conducting search operation, a meeting will be held at 07:00 pm for future ‘course of plan’.

Remember that PTI leaders and workers are being arrested back-to-back after violent protests erupted on 9th May following the arrest of party chief in the Al-Qadir Trust Case.

The PTI chief was taken into custody in the Al-Qadir Trust case by Rangers from Islamabad High Court where the former premier had gone to seek bail in multiple FIRs registered against him. The former prime minister was taken in black Vigo and shifted to NAB office Rawalpindi by the law enforcement agency.

The PTI chairman was going for biometric at the IHC when he was taken into custody.

After PTI Chief arrest Violent clashes broke out across Pakistan. The protests were held in remote and major cities in result Army installations and Corps Commander’s house in Lahore came under attack during a protest of PTI workers.

Dat after his arrest Supreme Court of Pakistan declares Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan’s arrest “illegal” by NAB in the Al-Qadir Trust case.

The three-member bench comprising Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Athar Minallah in the supervision of CJP Umar ata Bandial, while hearing the former prime minister’s plea against his arrest in the Al-Qadir Trust case, termed Imran Khan’s arrest by Rangers from inside courtroom “illegal” and ordered his immediate release.

The Top court also ordered the PTI chief to appear in Islamabad High Court tomorrow for his case hearing.

After which Islamabad High Court (IHC) barred authorities from arresting PTI Chairman Imran Khan in all cases, even those are undisclosed, registered across the country until Monday (May 15).

The court also granted protective bail to PTI chief in three terrorism cases registered against him in Lahore and stopped authorities from arresting him till May 17 in any case registered in Islamabad after May 9.

What is Al-Qadir Trust case

The Ex-Premier, along with his wife Bushra Bibi and other PTI leaders, are facing a NAB inquiry related to a settlement between the PTI government and a property tycoon, which reportedly caused a loss of 190 million pounds to the national exchequer.

As per the charges, the Imran Khan and others accused allegedly adjusted Rs50 billion — 190 million pounds at the time — sent by Britain’s National Crime Agency (NCA) to the government.

They are also accused of getting undue benefit in the form of over 458 kanals of land at Mouza Bakrala, Sohawa, to establish Al Qadir University
