Last year in December 2022, Reports are coming that Punjab CM Pervaiz Elahi summoned a meeting of the PML-Q to mull over Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s merger offer.
According to reports The senior leadership of the PML-Q and senators participated in the meeting. Some credible Sources claim that the majority of PML-Q are in favor of the PTI-Q league merger.
But in a surprise move, Pakistan Muslim League Quaid President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain suspended the basic party membership of Pervaiz Elahi ahead of the decision to merge Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and PML-Q.
A show-cause notice was also served to Pervaiz Elahi regarding his suspension from the party.
Remember that The PML-Q got divided into two groups over the issue of joining hands with the PTI and PML-N. Pervaiz Elahi and his son Moonis Elahi joined hands with Imran Khan while Chaudhry Shujjat, his son Ch Salik and former federal minister in the PTI government supported the PML-N.
