Govt likely to increase Petrol Prices by 20 Rupees

The federal government once again announced an increase in the petrol price by Rs1.45 per litre, a notification from the Finance Division released early Wednesday at 2 AM.

After the changes in the Petrol price, according to the notification, petrol will now be available for Rs237.43 per litre.

Initially, it was reported that the price of petroleum products will drop by 8 Rupees per liter. But instead of reducing the price Government increased the Petrol prices by 1.45 Rupees per liter.

The revised petroleum prices were to be announced on September 16, however, the government delayed announcing the updated petroleum prices. As Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was on an official visit to Uzbekistan to attend SCO Summit. The latest Reports are that in the coming days petrol prices may fall as Russia going to supply petrol and gas at a deferred price to Pakistan.
