Clashes erupts between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers and Law enforcement officials on Tuesday as a heavy contingent of police reached Zaman Park to arrest former prime minister Imran Khan in the Toshakana case and judge threat case.
As the police reached Zaman Park to arrest the PTI chief, the PTI chairman Imran khan leaves a message for his workers and supporters asking his workers to keep fighting for the “rule of law”, and ensure that they continue the struggle no matter what, and come out on the streets.

In a video message shared on Twitter, the PTI chief urged the nation to stand resolute and fight for ‘Haqeeqi Azadi (real freedom) and rule of law’. “If I’m arrested or killed, fight for Haqeeqi Azadi [true freedom movement] must continue,” said Khan who was removed as the premier via a no-confidence motion in April last year.
In response, PTI workers have started protesting across major cities — including Karachi, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Vehari, Peshawar, Quetta, and Mianwali.
A team of Islamabad police has also reached Lahore since yesterday to comply with the court orders to arrest the PTI chairman who faces a number of cases in different cities.
DIG Operations Islamabad Shahzad Bukhari is leading the police party that has surrounded Khan’s residence in the city’s posh area.
While talking to the media, the police official said: “We have come to comply with the warrant. We know the details of the case but cannot discuss”.
“Where will you take Imran Khan after arresting him?” a journalist asked the official.
To this, DIG Bukhari said: “Let us first arrest him, and then we will inform the media”.
The Islamabad police, in a tweet, also said legal action would be taken against those who were obstructing the implementation of the court orders regarding the PTI chief’s arrest.
Remember that yesterday, the district and sessions court in Islamabad on Monday issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for PTI chairman Imran Khan in the judge ‘threat’ case.
In yesterday’s hearing Civil Judge Rana Mujahid Rahim in the morning adjourned the hearing for an hour to ensure Imran Khan appears before the court.
Judge says, “I would issue a non-bailable arrest warrant for Imran Khan if he did not appear in court during the specified time.”
Imran Khan’s lawyer Naeem Panjutha stated that due to security fears, the PTI chief has requested for exemption from appearing in court.
The court resume its hearing after a break, Judge demanded where is Imran khan.
To which Imran Khan’s lawyer said that he will not appear before keeping this in view the court issued his non-bailable arrest warrant and ordered to present the PTI chief before the court on 29th March.
