Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice-Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on Friday that he will “lead” the party in case his party chairman Imran Khan was arrested.

While Talking to the media after getting interim bail in a hooliganism case Qureshi said, he will “lead” the PTI in case Imran Khan was arrested.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the PTI was the only party that respected the law and state institutions. “We have always respected the judiciary and will continue to do so in the future,” he added.

On the journalist’s question about Imran Khan’s arrest Vice Chairman Qureshi said: “I will take responsibility for the party in case our party chairman Imran Khan gets arrested”.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi also slammed Punjab police for “torturing to death” PTI worker Ali Bilal.

Remember that Former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan along with several senior party leaders booked a case for “attacking police” and “using foul language” against national security institutions in Lahore after Section 144 was imposed in the provincial capital.

The case was registered on the complaint of the Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) in Raiwind. According to FIR a mob of at least 300-400 committed violence in the city and used foul language against the state institutions.

The FIR was lodged today under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA), and Sections 147, 149, 353, 186, 302, 324, 188, 427, 290, 291, and 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The FIR stated that PTI workers, on the orders of its leadership, threatened law enforcers and pelted stones in which several officers including SHOs, and DSPs suffered injuries while several vehicles of the anti-riot force and police were thrashed.

The FIR named PTI chief Imran Khan, senior party leaders Fawad Chaudhry, Hammad Azhar, Mian Mehmood Rasheed, Hassan Niazi, and others behind clashes.

Clashes Between PTI Workers and Police

Punjab police on Wednesday baton-charged and teargassed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers during a rally in Lahore. 

The clashes erupted in Lahore ahead of Khan’s planned rally to kick-start his election campaign, but the government then banned by imposing Section 144 for seven days.

Due to Police Baton-Charged a PTI Worker named Bilal was allegedly killed in the police action.

After this Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced to the lodge of the First Information Report (FIR) against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other prominent personalities following the death of an activist due to police baton charge and teargas shelling at a Lahore rally. Ali Bilal’s murder case will be lodged against the prime minister, caretaker Punjab CM, interior minister and CCPO Lahore.

Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi took notice of the death of a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist in a clash with police officials during a rally in Lahore and ordered an investigation into the incident.
