Humanitarian Incident takes place in Sindh city Sukkur. A Sindh Police officer on Saturday beat an elderly beggar woman in public on Minara Road near Shalimar Phatak in Sukkur.
According to reports, the police officer was on high-level protocol duty.
The Police Helpline 15 In-charge slapped the beggar woman sitting at the side of the road. Then the police officer also tore her burka and beat her with the same.
A police officer was also seen abusing her and using unethical language. After the video went viral on social media, police officials took action against police officer Ali Muhammad Maher and issued an order of suspension.
The police spokesperson said the police officer who misbehaved with the beggars had been suspended. SSP Sukkur Singhar Malik took notice of the incident, he said.
“Permission of subjecting citizens to torture without any reason would not be allowed,” the SSP Sukkur said adding that the DSP Rohri had been appointed to investigate the incident.
