Federal Government orders to include Energy saving methods in the Education curriculum in order to spread awareness.

According to the announcement, the Federal Cabinet approved the first nationwide public awareness campaign on energy saving. As part of the awareness campaign, energy-saving methods will now be taught in schools and colleges.

Energy conservation will be included in the national educational curriculum. According to the announcement issued by the Ministry of Information, the cabinet was told that the import bill related to petroleum products has doubled in the last 7 years, saving energy will save billions of rupees in foreign exchange and the bill of the people at the individual level will be significantly reduced by 30 to 40 percent.

During the meeting, the Cabinet approved the first nationwide public awareness campaign on energy conservation. Common and popular energy-saving practices will be included in the curriculum. The Federal Cabinet appreciated the briefing of the Ministry of Information and directed it to run the nationwide campaign as soon as possible.

It should be noted that a major power breakdown hit Pakistan early Monday morning due to a failure in the National Grid. After which Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken strict notice of the situation and ordered a high-level probe. The premier has constituted a high-level committee and sought an immediate report from the energy minister. The Cabinet also ordered the preparation of a comprehensive strategy to address incidents of power breakdown.
