Counter Terrorism Dept arrested 12 more TTP Militants from Punjab

After the fear of Rising Terrorism in the Country, Terrorism Department starts conducts raids across Punjab.

According to the spokesperson of the counter-terrorism department (CTD) on Friday 12 terrorists have been arrested from three different cities including Lahore.

The CTD official said that three militants were detained from a sensitive area in Lahore, adding the terrorists captured during the raids belonged to Al-Qaeda and the banned outfit Teheek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). 

During the operation, the CTD also recovered suicide jackets, explosives, arms, and ammunition pistols recovered from the possession of terrorists.

“Explosives and material used for making suicide vests were recovered from the terrorists,” said the authorities.

The statement said that they were planning some terror activities in sensitive areas. It added that a case has been registered against the detainees and an investigation has been launched. 

The spokesperson added that about 159 suspects have been arrested during 797 combing and search operations conducted by the CTD during the ongoing week. 

Earlier Last month Counter-terrorism department launches its operation across Punjab after rising terrorism in the country. CTD conducted operations in Punjab Majore areas including Lahore, Multan Sargodha, and other areas. Where 36 suspects were taken under custody and meanwhile eight terrorists were arrested in a grand operation across majoer cities.

During the last month raid, 483 combined operations were conducted where 127 suspects were arrested.
