Pakistani Pacer Wahab Riaz officially took charge as Advisor to Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab on Sports and Youth Affairs at the National Hockey Stadium.
Secretary Sports Punjab Shahid Zaman and DG Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi welcomed Wahab Riaz and briefed him about sports matters.
On this occasion, Wahab Riaz said that all possible steps will be taken for the development of sports. Wahab Riaz said that youth should participate in sports activities as much as possible, sports bring discipline to life.
“We will make sure to utilize all the resources and take all stakeholders on board,” he added.
On his first day newly appointed Sports minister met the Commonwealth Games gold medalist Arshad Nadeem and both discuss the issues faced by the athletes in Punjab.
Taking to Twitter, Wahab shared pictures of the meeting and said he “will definitely look into the problems he highlighted and find solutions for the betterment of sports facilities and athletes across all sports.”
Wahab was appointed as sports minister in Punjab’s caretaker cabinet in the last week of January. However, he had not taken the oath of his office because of his commitment to the Pakistan Super League season 8.
