PSL 8 is all set to start on 13 Feb 2023 before PSL, Babar Azam XI, and Sarfaraz Ahmed XI will face each other in an exhibition match in Quetta’s Bugti Stadium on 5th February 2023.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to hold the Exhibition event with support from the Balochistan government, as a precursor to the upcoming eighth edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).
According to PCB details Exhibition match will be played in order to entertain Balochistan People and to record their reactions for future matches.
Earlier, the PCB Management Committee, led by Najam Sethi, had announced to add the Quetta as a fifth venue for the eighth edition of the PCB’s annual marquee event, which is scheduled to be held from 13 February to 19 March. However, now the PCB has decided to draw back their previous plan and decided on holding an exhibition match in Quetta, to engage the fans on Kashmir Day.
Babar will lead Team Yellow, which will comprise players Shahid Afridi, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Haris, Danish Aziz, and Saim Ayub. Whereas, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Hasnain, Naseem Shah, and Umar Akmal will turn up for Team Purple, under the leadership of Sarfaraz Ahmed.
The match will be scheduled for 5th February with a ticket of just 20 Rupees per person.
