Parvaiz Elahi once again won the vote of confidence in the Punjab Assembly Wednesday night,
The voting process to show confidence in Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Pervaiz Elahi has concluded in the provincial assembly. CM Pervaiz Elahi took the trust vote from 186 MPAs. Speaker Punjab Assembly Sibtain Khan announced that Punjab CM Pervaiz Elahi successfully took the vote of confidence.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Punjab Pervaiz Elahi thanked PTI, PML-Q, and independent MPAs for supporting and voting for confidence in him. He said that the Punjab governor’s denotification order was illegal and unconstitutional.
Yesterday The Lahore High Court resumed a hearing on Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi’s plea challenging Governor Balighur-Rehman’s order to de-notify him as Chief Minister.
A five-member bench headed by Justice Abid Aziz Shaikh, Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal, Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh, Justice Asim Hafeez, and Justice Muzamil Akhtar Shabir heard Pervaiz Elahi’s plea.
Lahore High Court’s Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh remarked that the Governor can ask a chief minister to take a vote of confidence from the Assembly.
During today’s proceedings, Pervaiz Elahi’s lawyer Barrister Ali Zafar said that the governor cannot ask the Chief Minister to take a Vote of Confidence as his rights are limited.
At this Justice Asim Hafeez remarked that the Governor can ask a Chief Minister to take a vote of confidence from the Assembly.
“Chief Minister should always have the support of 186 members.”
After the Lahore High Court’s yesterday verdict In a surprise move by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and its allies, Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi obtained a vote of confidence from the provincial assembly today.
The Punjab Assembly’s session was chaired by Speaker Sibtain Khan, and after a gap of two the session was resumed once again. According to Sources the PTI government made a surprise move and decided to take the vote of confidence for the Punjab CM Pervaiz Elahi.
In a surprise move, PTI Vice President Fawad Chaudhry said in a Twitter message that PTI and its allies completed the number of 187 lawmakers in the Punjab Assembly ahead of the vote of confidence.
Before the Vote of Confidence Session, the Political temperature was high in Punjab… both the Government and opposition Parties takes jibe at each other by using taunting words….
Fawad Chaudary while taking to his Twitter take a jibe at the PDM govt and writes “Bilawal Bhooka… Maryam Payaise… Aik soo Cheyase Aik soo Cheyase”.
Meanwhile in reply to Fawad Chaudhry PML-N Leader Hina Pervaiz Butt wrote “Niazi Bhooka…Googi Piyasi…pore kero Aik soo Cheyase”
After all Punjab Assembly sessions resumed after the Dinner break and the Doors of the Punjab Assembly hall have been closed as the Bells start ringing in Assembly.
CCPO Lahore also reached the Punjab Assembly and the Security of the Assembly was also beefed up in order to maintain law and order.
After the session resumed, the opposition lawmakers pointed out the quorum and gathered before the speaker’s dice. The speaker said that the quorum is complete and the government lawmakers are in majority.
The speaker also offered the opposition MPAs to recount the number of lawmakers present in the assembly hall. Later, the opposition requested the PA speaker to adjourn the session.
Speaker of Punjab Assembly Sibtain Khan said that the opposition MPAs should refrain from dictating to him. He refused to adjourn the session amid the vote of confidence with the full quorum.
After all, Speaker Punjab Assembly holds the vote of Confidence session and calls for a voting process in which Parvaiz Elahi once again won the vote of confidence in the Punjab Assembly and declared as Chief Minister of Punjab.
