President Iran Ebrahim Raisi cancel the interview with US journalist Christiane Amanpour as she refuses to wear a headscarf during an interview.
US journalist Christiane tweeted “After weeks of planning and eight hours of setting up translation equipment, lights, and cameras, we were ready. But no sign of President Raisi,”
“40 minutes after the scheduled start of the conversation, an adviser approached me. He said The President suggested that I wear a headscarf,” “I politely declined. We are in New York, which has no laws or traditions regarding headscarves. I pointed out that no previous Iranian president has requested it when I have interviewed him outside of Iran.” She further said right now I,m in New York, not in Iran, and in New York, there are no such rules and regulations on wearing headscarves.
The journalist belonged to the famous media organization CNN. Remember that there,s the 77th session of UNGA in New York for which all heads of the countries moved to New York including PM Shahabez Sharif.
