Islamabad District and session court on Wednesday granted the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Fawad Chaudhry in the sedition case registered against him.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Faizan Haider Gillani stated that he is granted bail to the former information minister in a case registered against him for ‘threatening’ members of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

Judge Faizan Haider Gillani granted bail to the PTI leader against surety bonds worth Rs20,000.
Judge Faizan Gilani stated that he is releasing Fawad Chaudhry on bail under the condition that he will not be going to pass such remarks in the future.
Fawad Chaudhry Arrest
It is to mention here that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry was arrested by Islamabad Police from his residence on charges of ‘threatening’ Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) members.
A case against former Minister Fawad Chaudhary was registered last night at the Kohsar police station in Islamabad on the complaint of Secretary of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Omer Hamid Khan.
The FIR was lodged against him for using unethical and ‘threatening’ language against the ECP and its members. According to the First Information Report (FIR), Fawad Chaudhry in his media talk outside Imran Khan’s residence in Lahore, threat the ECP, its members, and their families.
Remember that The PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry has been booked under sections 153-A (promotion of enmity between groups), 506 (criminal intimidation), 505 (statement conducing to public mischief), and 124-A (sedition) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
The FIR states that Fawad Chaudhary said that the status and power of the election commission were reduced to that of a “Munshi [clerk]”.
