The price of per kg chicken meat across the country has increased sharply and is being sold at Rs700 to 750.
After mutton and beef, chicken meat is also falling out of the reach of the middle class. In Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and some other cities, the price of chicken has also reached an all-time high, with a kilogram of poultry meat being sold for Rs700-705.

The price of broiler chicken meat in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad also got increased by nearly Rs700kg.
According to Poultry Farm officials, the Price hike is due to the closure of several poultry businesses due to a shortage of Chicken feed. In the country’s second most populous city Lahore, the chicken meat price is selling between Rs550-600 per kg.
According to Government officials, an investigation has been launched to ascertain the cause of the feed shortage.
