The Federal Government decided once again to launch a laptop scheme for University students with a budget of Rs10 billion.
According to the details, the announcement was made by Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal while addressing a ceremony in Islamabad.

While Addressing the ceremony, the Federal Minister said that under this scheme one hundred thousand laptops will be distributed to the students on merit to digitally empower them.
Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal said that the National Bank of Pakistan (NBA) has also been asked to develop laptop leasing products so that every university student has access to an affordable laptop.
The Planning Minister further said that given the size of the youth of Pakistan can turn Information Technology into one of its competitive advantages.
Earlier Higher Education Commission Chairman Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed announced that the education regulatory body would launch the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme in the next few days.
Talking to journalists, Mukhtar Ahmed announced that the HEC will also initiate a program for online courses for students in Pakistan’s universities with support from Microsoft and different global organizations.
Remember here one thing Under Skills Development Program, the Special Assistant to PM said that over 100,000 youth will be provided with training in different fields with a special focus on IT.
