Today AML Chief was presented before Islamabad local court Judicial Magistrate Umar Shabbir’s where the police requested an eight-day physical remand of Rasheed.

Judicial Magistrate Umar Shabbir rejected the police’s plea for 8-day physical remand and approved two-day physical remand.

While hearing, AML Chief Rasheed told the court that he’s been appointed as the federal minister at least 16 times and asked the court his handcuffs be removed.

After this, the court ordered police to unlock Former Minister Rashid’s handcuffs.

Shiekh Rasheed’s lawyer Abdul Razzaq began his arguments, saying that his client was arrested in a politically motivated case.

“The case against Rasheed was registered at 8 pm on Wednesday night. The police had arrested Rasheed against the high court’s orders,” he told the court.

The prosecutor then told the court that Sheikh Rasheed tried to create “threats” for the family members of the Zardari for levelling allegations against his client.

Sources said that PPP’s Rawalpindi Division President Raja Inayat-ur-Rehman had filed a case against the former federal minister in Islamabad’s Aabpara police station for the baseless allegations at former president Asif Ali Zardari for making a plan to assassinate Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan.
