The full bench of the AJK High Court had summoned Sardar Tanvir ilyas today in a contempt notice taken on his speech at a public meeting. The order was issued by a two-member bench on a newspaper clipping citing the speech of the prime minister.

The high court registrar had been directed to issue a notice to the AJK prime minister through his principal secretary to appear in person before the court on today and explain his position. The registrar had also directed to fix the matter before full bench.

In todays hearing full bench, led by Justice Sadaqat Hussain Raja, hears the case. During the hearing, the clips featuring the prime minister were played.

AJK PM ilyas gave an unconditional apology to the court, saying “I apologise unconditionally if any of my words hurt the judge.”

“Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir has committed contempt of the court,” the bench said in its verdict.

The court has declared Sardar Tanvir Ilyas ineligible from holding any public office and has asked AJK’s Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Abdul Rasheed Sulehria to hold polls for a new prime minister.

Remember that Ilyas appeared before the court today after the AJK High Court’s entire bench issued a contempt notice in response to his remarks during a public gathering.

The Supreme Court also summoned Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer ilyas today at 2:30 PM. The prime minister of Azad Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas reached the Supreme Court due to the disqualification decision.

Azad Kashmir’s prime minister was disqualified for allegedly adopting a harsh tone in his public gathering.
