After launching the country’s ‘first-ever’ Pink Peoples Bus Service for women in Karachi, the Sindh government is all set to introduce the Pink Bus service in Hyderabad.
While Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Sindh information and Transport minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon said the Pink Bus Service would be launched in Hyderabad by the 18th of February 2023.
Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said Pakistan is listed among the countries, which are providing separate transport services to women in form of Pink Bus. The Sindh minister also announced the expansion of Pink Bus Service’s routes in Karachi from 20th February 2023.
Sharjeel Inam Memon terming the Peoples Bus Service, one of the best services in the world, said the expansion of routes of Pink Bus Service will facilitate women and especially students.
Earlier, Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon also announced to launch pink taxi cab service for women in Karachi.
“The government has decided to launch tax services in Karachi under Sindh Mass Transit Authority,” he said, adding that pink tax service for women will be launched in the first phase.
Pakistan’s First Electric Bus
Earlier this month Sindh Information and Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon launched Pakistan’s first Pink bus service and electric bus service in Karachi.
While Talking to the media after inaugurating the bus service, Sharjeeel Memon said environment-friendly Peoples Electric Bus service will start from Tank Chowk Malir Cantt to Clock Tower Roundabout, Sea View Defence using Khayaban e Ittihad,” he said, adding that airport passengers can also avail this service.
“The fares for these buses have been set at Rs50,” he said, adding that electric buses have more than 30 seats including designated seats for differently-abled persons.
He said that the in first phases 10 eco-friendly electric vehicles will ply route one from Airport to Clock Tower. Information and Transport Minister Sharjeel Memon said that a solar system was also installed for the charging of the buses.
Each bus will complete a journey of 240 kilometers after one-time charging, he added.
Remember that In November last year, Transport Minister Sharjeel Memon announced that the transport department of the Sindh government will start a new bus service in Karachi.
