Salman Iqbal, the president and chief executive officer of the ARY Digital Network, as well as Arshad Sharif and Khawar Ghuman, two anchors, have all been arrested on “sedition”-related charges, according to ARY News on Wednesday.
On the basis of the SHO’s report, a FIR has been filed at the Memon Goth police station in Karachi. According to information obtained by ARY News, Salman Iqbal, Arshad Sharif, Khawar Ghuman, and Adeel Raja were the targets of a First Information Report (FIR) that was filed just one hour prior to the arrest of Ammad Yousaf, president and CEO of ARY Digital Network.
The FIR was filed in accordance with Sections 120, 124A, 131, and 153A, which also include allegations of conspiracy and sedition.
Ammad Yousaf, the head of news for ARY, was earlier arrested without a warrant at his home in Karachi’s DHA.
Police officers and someone in plain clothes forcibly entered Ammad Yousaf’s home. The raiding squad redirected the Yousaf’s home’s CCTV cameras before entering the residence through the top of the main entrance.
