Famous and Most Elite University of Pakistan, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) professor Muhummad Tariq was beaten up for peacefully protesting outside university for upholding the constitution and exercising fundamental rights to express ourselves.
The assault occurred as Tariq held placards advocating for the upholding of the constitution and the exercise of fundamental rights to express oneself freely. This act of violence resulted in severe injuries, including a broken arm and knee, further highlighting the challenges faced by proponents of democratic values in Pakistan.

Muhummad Tariq said that he was beaten up for holding placards outside of the university with his teenage children.
Taking to social media, he said that after all this he does not regret coming back to Pakistan and is proud of the country and will serve it with even more dedication, commitment and honesty.
Despite the physical and emotional toll of the assault, Tariq remains resolute in his belief that advocating for constitutional rights and freedom of expression is essential for the progress and well-being of the nation.
Tariq also said he always tells his student to stand strong. He ended the note by saying that he is doing fine now.
His personal experience has further fueled his resolve to empower the youth and instill in them the importance of defending democratic values.
Tariq concludes his message by assuring well-wishers that he is on the path to recovery, displaying remarkable resilience and inspiring others to fight for their rights.
