Today In a surprise move, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announces to increase in petrol and diesel prices by Rs35 per litre.
While addressing Media, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announces that 11 percent increase has been seen in the prices of petrol products in the international market. Finance Minister Dar said that keeping this in view the prices of kerosene oil and light diesel oil have also been increased by Rs18 per litre.

After the recent hike, the new price of petrol will be Rs249.80, diesel at Rs262.80, kerosene oil at Rs189.83 and light diesel at Rs187.
The Finance Minister said prices of petroleum products were not increased in the past 4 months, claiming that prices of diesel and kerosene oil also decreased during the period.
The Finance Minister claimed that the rumors regarding petrol shortage led to an artificial shortage of petroleum products in the market.
Last week some rumors are circulating in the media regarding 85 rupess per litre petrol price hike which lead to a new price of petrol at 310 Rupees per liter. After this several private companies’ petrol pumps closed their fuel stations in the cities of Punjab on Saturday.
Earlier day OGRA denied rumors about a petrol price hike that are circulating on social media.
OGRA spokesman in a press statement said that “It has been observed that speculative prices of petrol and diesel are being reported in the print and electronic media since last evening that is misleading and incorrect”
He advised the public to avoid disseminating speculative and baseless information about the prices of petroleum products.
Now today, Finance Minister in a press conference announces to increase petrol prices by 35 rupees per liter after which the new price will be 249.89.
