Google announced the establishment of 1,000 scholarships for Balochistan youth to strengthen the young people skills in the area through digital skills and knowledge.
Regarding this a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed in Quetta between Balochistan Government and Google officials. Google officials, representatives of the Department of Education, and the Department of Labor and Manpower signed the memorandum of agreement for the Google Career Certificate. Google will provide 1,000 scholarships worth $500,000 to students in Balochistan.

Google will provide training to youth in the fields of project management, digital marketing, IT support, advanced business intelligence, cyber security, and design.
The Chief Secretary of Balochistan said that the students who get the scholarship will get job opportunities through modern technology while sitting at home. The Chief Secretary also suggested Google open its office in Quetta, but progress in that regard remains to be seen.
Remember that Balochistan is one of Pakistan’s least developed provinces, and young people there need help getting access to good schools and jobs. Young people in Balochistan will be able to gain the skills and information necessary to thrive in a job environment that is changing quickly, thanks to the scholarships provided by Google.
The National Incubation Center (NIC) Quetta and the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications are working with Google to provide the programme.
To be eligible for the Google scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- They must be residents of Balochistan.
- They must be between the ages of 18 and 35.
- They must have a minimum education level of intermediate.
- They must be passionate about developing digital skills and knowledge.
