The federal government declared that the inclusion of the oath of the Finality of Prophethood (Khatm-e-Nabuwwat) will be ensured in the marriage certificate form in Islamabad Capital Territory on the format of the National Database and Registration Authority and passport forms.
The Parliamentary Secretary for Interior Muhammad Sajjad assured this in response to the call-to-attention notice by Muhammad Jamaluddin, Aliya Kamran, Salahuddin, and others, about the oath not being included in the marriage certificates
The parliamentary secretary for the interior said that the finality of the Prophethood (PBUH) is part of our belief, and the government would pass the bill from the house as soon as possible.
In October last year, the Punjab Assembly unanimously passed a resolution demanding the inclusion of the oath of Khatm-e-Nabuwwat (seal of the prophets) in the marriage certificate form to discourage marriages between Muslims and non-Muslims (Ahmadis) by trick.
The resolution was jointly presented by the provincial assembly members of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q).
PML-Q MPA Khadija Umar highlighted that there were many complaints that people hide their faith at the time of marriage. After several years of marriage, the families come to know that one of the spouses was following Ahmadi’s belief which creates a lot of problems for the families and children.
She highlighted that office of the Punjab Assembly speaker had also received several complaints about this issue too after which it was felt necessary to include a box for belief on the Finality of the Prophethood (PBUH) in the marriage certificate form.
Now Federal Government declared that the inclusion of the oath of the Finality of Prophethood (Khatm-e-Nabuwwat) will be ensured in the marriage certificate form.
