Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh once again made a controversial statement regarding the scheduled Asia Cup in Pakistan.
According to the details, former off-spinner Harbhajan Singh said that the Indian team should not travel to Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023 due to security concerns.
He said EvenPTI Chairman Imran Khan is not Safe in Pakistan so how would it be considered that ITeam India will be safe in Pakistan?
He said that Pakistan is not a safe country for its people, so how can we take risks? Our government is taking the right decision. There is more security for players going to Pakistan for any series.
Even earlier, the former Indian cricketer had said that if India does not go to Pakistan in the Asia Cup, then it is our decision and you should not come to play in the World Cup.
He said that India has no desire to play against Pakistan, but Pakistan needs India. Harbhajan Singh initially supported the Indian team in the ICC Champions Trophy and later said that it will not happen.
Remember that The Asia Cup is scheduled to be played in Pakistan, while Indian cricket management announced not to visit Pakistan to play the upcoming Asia Cup, and demanded to shift the event to a neutral venue.
ACC President Jay Shah confirmed that Men’s ODI Asia Cup 2023 will take place in September this year with Pakistan- India would be in the same group along with a qualifying team. Other group includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.
In a tweet, Ajay Shah said presenting the ACC pathway structure and cricket calendars for 2023 & 2024!
Earlier PCB Chairman Najam Sethi said that upcoming Asia Cup, ICC Men’s ODI World Cup, and ICC Men’s Champions Trophy matters will be discussed during the ACC and ICC meeting that is scheduled in Dubai, adding that all options will be discussed regarding the holding of the Asia Cup and ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan. He said the foreign security experts have expressed their satisfaction with the security situation in the country.
