According to the latest reports Newly-appointed Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir Shah is likely to reshuffle the top officials of the Pakistan Army.
DG ISPR Lt General Babar Iftikhar will be replaced by Major General Ahmed Sharif, with Babar Iftikhar to lead the Karachi Corps. Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Engineering Corps, earlier posted as Director General Defense Science and Technology Organisation (DESTO), has been posted as the Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) GHQ.

Corps Commander Bahawalpur and former DG ISI Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed’s resignation was approved by GHQ now he is retired from service According to Media sources.
Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed was serving as Corps Commander Bahawalpur before retirement and performed his duties as the 24th DG ISI.
Reports of his premature retirement come after the federal government appointed General Syed Asim Munir as Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and General Sahir Shamshad Mirza as CJCSC for the next three years. Lt General Faiz Hameed, serving as Bahawalpur Corps Commander, was scheduled to retire on 30th April 2023.

According to sources, Lt Gen Faiz Hammed has decided to take early retirement. The news comes after the Federal Government appointed General Syed Asim Munir as Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and General Sahir Shamshad Mirza as Chief of Joint Staff for the next three years.
