US CENTCOM Commander General Michael “Erik” Kurilla on Friday made a video call and congratulated General Asim Munir on his new position as Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan.
According to the reports, US CENTCOM Spokesman Col Joe Buccino in a statement said Gen Michael “Erik” Kurilla spoke via video teleconference with Pakistan’s new Army Chief Gen Asim.
In the statement, General Munir and US CENTCOM Commander General Kurilla have a previously established relationship from General Kurilla’s time as CENTCOM Chief of Staff. The CENTCOM spokesman said General Kurilla congratulated General Munir on his new position.
The spokesman also said that both the commanders discussed US-Pakistan security cooperation efforts and strengthening the bilateral relationship.
According to a statement issued by the US CENTCOM, General Asim Munir and General Kurilla have a previously established relationship from General Kurilla’s time as CENTCOM Chief of Staff.
The statement says General Kurilla congratulated General Munir on his new position and the two leaders discussed US-Pakistan security cooperation efforts and strengthening the bilateral relationship.
