American Young Singer-Actor Selena Gomez became the first woman to reach the coveted 400 million follower mark on Instagram after just reaching that milestone. Prior to now, Kylie had the most Instagram followers of any woman.
Kylie Jenner was the most followed female on Instagram earlier. Kylie Jenner’s followers as of now stand at 382 million.

Selena Gomez is the first and only woman to have 400 million Instagram followers. The actress has been quite active on social media, and her unedited postings are very popular. Furthermore, the Hailey Bieber scandal helped her acquire more publicity, resulting in an increase in followers. She is third on the list, only after football giants Cristiano Ronaldo (562 million) and Lionel Messi (442 million).
Meanwhile, Kylie Jenner is the second most followed woman on Instagram, with 382 million followers. The other ladies in the Top 10 are Ariana Grande (361 million), Kim Kardashian (348 million), Beyonce (300 million), and Khloe Kardashian (348 million). Taylor Swift, Selena’s best friend, is ranked 15th with 249 million followers.
Last month, when Selena became the most followed female celebrity on Instagram, announced taking a break from social media.
A media outlet reported that last month, Selena went live on TikTok saying, “I’m very happy, I’m so blessed. I have the best friends and the best fans in the whole world and I just couldn’t be happier.”
“I’m good, I love the way I am, I don’t care,” she added.
“And yeah, I’m gonna be taking a second from social media ’cause this is a little silly and I’m 30. I’m too old for this,” she said further.
The star added, “I love you guys so much and I will see you guys sooner than later. I just have to take a break from everything.”
However, Selena soon returned to social media and posted a series of photos with her family.
