The United States State Department spokesman Ned Price said that the ongoing situation in Pakistan’s politics is their internal matter and the US did not need to comment on that.
On Thursday during a press briefing at the State Department, Ned Price said that the US supports the “peaceful upholding of democratic, constitutional, and legal principles around the world, including in Pakistan.”

US State Department Spokesperson said this while responding to a question about Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan being denied bail in the Toshakhana case and his party’s workers terming it an example of political victimization.
Regarding a question regarding Afghan refugees, US State Department spokesperson Ned Price said that we’re discussing this matter with our Pakistani counterparts and officials and we are engaging the Pakistani authorities on this matter. We encourage all states to uphold their respective obligations with regard to Afghan refugees or asylum seekers and to refrain from returning them to anywhere where they could face persecution or torture.
Addressing the issue of internet shutdowns in India, particularly in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), he said that the US talks about freedom of expression, and freedom of people around the world to access information.
