According to the latest reports, chances are that the Governor of Punjab will today ask Pervez Elahi to take a Vote of Confidence. Simultaneously, a motion for a Vote of No Confidence will be submitted at the assembly against the Chief Minister.

Sources have told that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), the largest party in the opposition, has also asked all its members to reach Lahore.

Former President of Pakistan and Peoples Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari already camped in Lahore to concentrate on the party’s issues in Punjab and efforts to revitalize it for the next general elections as election fever grew.

Asif Ali Zardari is also anticipated to engage with the allies in formulating a plan to exercise political muscle against the PTI-PML-Q alliance’s grip on power in the province and mobilize support for the elections. According to the latest reports He is also anticipated to speak with the President of Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.

During his visit to Lahore, Asif Zardari is also expected to meet with the Prime Minister and other party leaders to finalize the list of candidates for Punjab. In addition, Asif Ali Zardari will choose officials and a party leader to head Central Punjab.

Asif Ali Zardari, who is a key ally of the PML-N-led ruling coalition, is also likely to consult with the allies on chalking out a strategy for flexing political muscles against the ruling PTI-PML-Q alliance in the province and whip up votes for the polls.

Remember that On 26th November the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan announced in a rally that the two provincial governments led by his party, Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, will be dissolved to put pressure on the government to hold early elections.

“We will not be part of this country’s political system. We have decided to quit all assemblies,” the former premier said while addressing the party workers and supporters at Rawalpindi Jalsa.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan said that his party had decided not to go to Islamabad as he didn’t want any destruction or chaos. “I would announce the date of resignations after consulting chief ministers and the parliamentary party,” he announced. It is pertinent to mention here that the Imran Khan-led party is ruling the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province while they are also in power in Punjab through a coalition with Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q).

After Imran khan’s announcement regarding the quitting assemblies. PML-Q leader Monnis Elahi tweeted and said as Imran khan gave us orders to dissolve assemblies well do it.

“They [government] cannot afford Islamabad march… they cannot stop millions from entering Islamabad. We could have created create Sri Lanka-like situation,” he said while addressing the party’s gathering in Rawalpindi on Saturday.

He added that the party has decided to quit all legislative assemblies in the country in a bid to force the incumbent rulers to announce early elections.
