Punjab chief minister (CM) Pervaiz Elahi advises Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan to delay the dissolution of the Punjab Assembly.

The development came after the Central Information Secretary of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former federal minister, Fawad Chaudhry held meetings with CM Pervaiz Elahi and Imran Khan.

According to the sources, Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi told Fawad Chaudhry in the meeting that PML-Q doesn’t have any objection to the dissolution of the assembly but development work is going on in the province which requires 3 months to complete.

CM Punjab Pervaiz Elahi suggested delaying the dissolution of the Punjab Assembly for at least three months so that development projects to be completed and it will be a better decision.

PTI Senior leader Chaudhry conveyed the message of CM Punjab Pervaiz Elahi to his party chairman, Imran Khan. The sources said while quoting Imran Khan that if the dissolution of assemblies is delayed, the country will default.

Sources say that Imran Khan is sticking to his position that immediate elections are the only solution to the problems facing the country. Remember that PTI Chief Former prime minister Imran Khan announced that his party has decided to exit from all the assemblies.

“We will not be part of this country’s political system. We have decided to quit all assemblies,” the former premier said while addressing the party workers and supporters at Rawalpindi Jalsa.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan said that his party had decided not to go to Islamabad as he didn’t want any destruction or chaos. “I would announce the date of resignations after consulting chief ministers and the parliamentary party,” he announced. It is pertinent to mention here that the Imran Khan-led party is ruling the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province while they are also in power in Punjab through a coalition with Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q).

After Imran khan’s announcement regarding the quitting assemblies. PML-Q leader Monnis Elahi tweeted and said as Imran khan gave us orders to dissolve assemblies well do it.
